The Lord Is My Shepherd

October 22, 2007

Psalm 23: 1-41 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

    3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
       for his name’s sake.

    4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
       I will fear no evil,
       for you are with me;
       your rod and your staff,
       they comfort me.

This passage is one that always comes into my mind. It helps when I’m feeling lost, nervous and not very happy. It reminds me that God is always there with me, through everything I do. It describes him as a shepherd and we are his sheep. He will protect us through everything like a shepherd would protect his sheep.

Verse 3 says ‘he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness’ Its saying that God forgives us and will restore us with his love, and that he will show us the right way to follow him. The Psalm also reminds me that we should trust in God because he will guide us in the right direction and will provide us with food and water when we are in great need. We must trust in God and allow him to show us the right way to live and to guide us along the path of righteousness.

Remember, we are only one sheep out of billions, but God will always listen to us. No matter what we have done. As long as we trust in him and allow him to show us the right path to take.

Light of the World

October 15, 2007

                                 Genesis 1: 1-5

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning-the first day.

In this passage, it tells us that the first thing that God created after the Earth was light. He saw light as a very important thing, it helps us to see, to find our way around. Without light we would be helpless and lost.

Between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New, there is a large time gap where nothing really happens. God’s plan hasn’t worked and many people were sinning and not following him. The world was DARK.

God’s response was to send the Light of the World, Jesus to show people how to follow God and to lead people along the right path in life. God had shown new light to the world in the form of his son who went on the forgive us of all our sins.

So remember, humans have already let God down once, so we try not to do it again. God sent Jesus to show us the way so we should follow that way.

Spiritual Blindness

October 10, 2007

Spiritually Blind? Open Your Eyes To GODSpiritually Blind? Open Your Eyes To GODSpiritually Blind? Open Your Eyes To GOD

Hi guys,

sorry im a bit late, your probably all sleeping lol

i decided to continue reading on from one of the paragraphs from Johns HEALING sheet

3 John 9:1-7

John 9:35-41:

Spiritual Blindness

35Jesus heard that they (The Pharisees) had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”

36“Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.”

37Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”

38Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.

39Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.”

40Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, “What? Are we blind too?”

41Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

AMEN!

Now, baring in mind this is just after Jesus had healed this man, he was willing to believe every word that Jesus spoke to him & he recieved  his faith in Jesus.

Reading on it is possible to believe that it was much easier for this man to recieve faith in Jesus after he had just healed him in the flesh, so how much harder is it for those who know little of Jesus or nothing at all.

39Jesus said “I came to this world to judge, so that the blind should see & those who see should become blind.”

Im not certain of this, but my view of this verse is that Jesus is saying that those who are blind who have not seen or do not know the glory of God are not guilty as they have not been able to get to know God,  but those who are not blind & have the eyes to see Gods work being done but still do not believe are maybe guilty of ignoring God, even though it is always easier to believe by seeing, i believe God is saying that those who are blind have a better chance of  recieving him by pure FAITH.

Comment Any Thoughts You Have

God Bless!
